Chiropractic care to support mothers, babies and children

Chiropractic care to support mothers, babies and children

Pregnancy, birth and those first few months with a newborn are magical, but they can also place a huge amount of physical strain and demand on both mother and baby, leading to discomfort and tension.

Our team at Stafford Chiropractic Clinic include chiropractors who specialise in caring for pregnant women, newborns and children, using gentle, non-invasive techniques to support the body throughout pregnancy, birth, those precious early weeks and beyond.

For pregnant mothers, chiropractic care includes supporting the body as it adapts to accommodate a growing baby, whilst it also undergoes postural, hormonal, musculoskeletal and bio-mechanical changes. For newborns, babies and children, chiropractors are trained to assess each individual and how their unique presentation may display musculoskeletal concern, including discomfort, movement or postural issues. Chiropractic care is then adapted to the individual, taking into consideration their age, size, stage of development, medical history and specific needs. This allows the chiropractor to use appropriate techniques and provide care that is considered and adapted to support healthy growth and development.

At Stafford Chiropractic Clinic, particular attention is given to comfort and communication, to ensure that parents are involved throughout the process and understand the proposed care. Our approach is gentle, individualised and appropriate for every stage of pregnancy, infancy and childhood. We take the time to listen, answer any questions and ensure you feel comfortable and confident throughout your care with us. Whether you are pregnant, newly postpartum, or looking for support with your growing family, we would love to hear from you.

Leah Jacobs is a chiropractor registered with the General Chiropractic Council and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association, who has completed postgraduate chiropractic training on pregnancy and paediatrics with the Academy of Functional Paediatrics.
